The Fourth Meeting of the Eighth Session of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings (hereinafter referred to as the Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings) was held from 14th to 17th November, 2023 at the Land Rheinland Hotel in Taicang City, Jiangsu Province, China, and at the Sino-German Cooperation in Standardisation and Innovation Centre in Suzhou, China.
The meeting was hosted by Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd. and co-organised by Schaeffler (China) Co. More than 80 representatives of rolling bearing standard committee members, invited guests, standard drafters, secretariat and other attendees attended the meeting.
Wang Yan, Deputy Director of Suzhou Market Supervision Administration, Feng Limin, Director of Suzhou Innovation Centre for Sino-German Cooperation in Standardization, Dr. Liu Yong, Chief Technology Officer of Schaeffler Greater China, and Dr. Yu Qingfeng, Vice President of Industrial R&D and Industry 4.0 of Schaeffler Greater China, were invited to attend the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Tang Jie, Secretary General of Rolling Bearing Standard Committee.
Firstly, Dr Liu Yong delivered a speech on behalf of Schaeffler Greater China. Dr Liu Yong expressed his gratitude to SCCRS for its care and support for Schaeffler’s development.
He said that Schaeffler Group, as a technology-based company, provides rolling and plain bearing solutions for a wide range of industrial applications. With the development concept of “local resources serving local market”, Schaeffler continuously strengthens its local R&D capability in China.
Schaeffler always adheres to innovation as the core driving force, and supports the transformation and development of its business by continuously improving its R&D capabilities to actively serve Chinese customers and markets. R&D and innovation cannot be separated from standards, and standards help and regulate innovation. Schaeffler will continue to strengthen its standardisation work and actively participate in China’s standardisation activities with higher enthusiasm.
Deputy Director Wang Yan introduced the economic and social development of Suzhou and Taicang in her speech. She pointed out that Suzhou has always attached great importance to standardisation work, and has made great achievements in standardisation work by continuously promoting the standardisation work in the whole region and expanding the development path of “standardisation+”.
Taicang has a very good standardisation atmosphere, through the standardisation of help, Taicang in science and technology innovation and standardisation of integrated development, standards to promote industrial upgrading, as well as domestic and international double cycle have done very useful exploration and attempts to form a replicable and extendable “Taicang experience”.
She firmly believes that this meeting will play a good role in promoting the standardisation of rolling bearings in Suzhou.
Then, the rolling bearing standard committee vice chairman Zhao Binhai on behalf of the standard committee speech, he conveyed the party and the state on the standardisation of important instructions, a comprehensive summary of the rolling bearing standard committee 2023 work, and the next step of the work focus on the deployment.
He pointed out that the high-end bearing industry is ushering in a huge development space, which puts forward higher requirements for standardisation. For this reason, the rolling bearing standard committee should play a better role in supporting the localisation of high-end bearings, form a new mechanism for standards, broaden the field of standardisation, enhance the internationalisation of standards, etc., and make greater contributions to the construction of a strong bearing country.
Subsequently, Dr. Yu Qingfeng gave a technical report titled “Digitalisation for Low Carbon Development – Carbon Management of Schaeffler’s Product Lifecycle”, focusing on Schaeffler’s powerful calculation and simulation tools to make the carbon emission of bearings from cradle to grave more transparent, as well as Schaeffler’s high-efficiency bearings and high-efficiency bearings, and its high efficiency bearings. The presentation focused on Schaeffler’s powerful calculation and simulation tools that make carbon emissions more transparent from the cradle to the grave, as well as Schaeffler’s high-efficiency bearings and digital solutions that will support its customers in achieving net zero emissions.
In the future, Schaeffler will be committed to achieving sustainable development and actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibility to make the world cleaner, safer and smarter.
The standard review was presided over by Zhao Binhai, vice chairman of Rolling Bearing Standard Committee, Guo Changjian, vice chairman, Zhao Lianchun, vice secretary general and Zhao Lei, member. The meeting reviewed the development and revision of five draft national standards, three draft industry standards, of which five national standards, three industry standards through the final review.
The meeting also solicited opinions on the “2024 rolling bearing field standard making, revising plan project proposal form”, the secretariat and 11 enterprises to the representatives of the meeting to introduce the 3 standard-making projects and 13 revised standard project declaration.
During the meeting, Li Feixue, Deputy Secretary General of the rolling bearing standard committee, introduced the ISO/TC 4 plenary and international standardisation work; at the same time, it also arranged a visit to Schaeffler Taicang Intelligent Factory, Taicang Sino-German Cooperation Exhibition Hall and Sino-German Cooperation in Standardization Suzhou Innovation Centre.
