Timken® EnviroSpexx ™️ energy-saving roller bearings are designed to increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption. The unique internal geometry is designed to minimise rotational torque, thereby maximising the system efficiency of the machinery. Secondly, the reduction in bearing torque also reduces the amount of electricity required by the customer to operate the equipment or machinery, reducing overall energy consumption and carbon emissions. Case 1: Gearbox
The customer selected Timken® EnviroSpexx ™️ tapered roller bearings for their 3-axis/6-bearing gearboxes, which reduced torque by 10% and resulted in cost savings of $5,066 over five years, with a total reduction in carbon emissions of 25,398 lbs.

Case 2: Compressor
The customer’s compressor shaft is supported by two tapered roller bearings. By using Timken® EnviroSpexx ™️ energy-efficient roller bearings, the torque for this application was reduced by 25%, resulting in a total energy cost savings of $4,691 over five years and a total reduction in carbon emissions of 23,523 lbs.

Case 3: Pumps
The customer’s pump shaft is supported by two tapered roller bearings. The selection of Timken® EnviroSpexx ™️ energy-efficient roller bearings resulted in a 10% reduction in torque, a total five-year energy cost savings of US$841, and a total reduction in carbon emissions of 3,827 lbs.
