On July 29, the groundbreaking ceremony of PetroChina Guangxi Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Integration Transformation and Upgrading Project 1.2 million tonnes/year ethylene plant was held in Qinzhou Port. Zhong Changzi, Secretary of Qinzhou Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Qinzhou Port Area of FTZ, Wang Xiongchang, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee, Mayor and Director of Qinzhou Port Area Management Committee of FTZ, Zhong Hengqin, Standing Committee of Municipal Party Committee, Standing Deputy Mayor, Vice Director of Qinzhou Port Area Management Committee of FTZ and First Grade Inspector, Li Shanchun, Secretary of the Party Committee of PetroChina Guangxi Petrochemical Company, Executive Director, and Zhang Jazhen, Managing Director of China Huanqiu Engineering Company Limited, attended the ceremony to begin the construction and jointly touch the starting column to start the construction.
PetroChina Guangxi Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Integration Transformation and Upgrading Project is a major project of the national petrochemical industry planning and layout, and also a strategic project of PetroChina to promote “oil reduction and chemical increase” and adjust the structure, which is of great significance to promote the petrochemical industry and economic and social development of Qinzhou, and to assist the construction of beautiful Guangxi in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. As the core device of the transformation and upgrading project, the 1.2 million tonnes/year ethylene plant adopts PetroChina’s independent intellectual property rights of large-scale ethylene process technology, and the main products include polymerised ethylene, polymerised propylene, hydrogenated gasoline and styrene, while the by-production of hydrogen, mixed carbon IV, cracked carbon V, carbon IX, and cracked fuel oil, etc., which has achieved remarkable results in terms of “reducing oil and increasing chemistry” and “reducing oil, increasing chemistry” and adjusting structure. “The company has achieved remarkable results and formed an industrial layout and product structure with Guangxi’s petrochemical characteristics and competitive advantages.
