On the afternoon of 22nd November, the 13th Award Ceremony of NSK Mechanical Engineering Outstanding Thesis Achievement Prize, which was established by NSK Investments Ltd (hereinafter referred to as NSK) with the aim of helping the cultivation of excellent talents in China’s mechanical industry, was successfully held in the Innovation Harbor Campus of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU).
Mr Xing Xiaoqiang, Secretary General of Xi’an Jiaotong University Education Foundation, Mr Xing Peng, Vice Minister of Xi’an Jiaotong University Party Committee Postgraduate Work Department, Mr Zhang Min, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xi’an Jiaotong University School of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Zhu Yongsheng and Prof. Zhang Jinhua of NSK Joint Laboratory of Xi’an Jiaotong University, as well as Mr Yu Guoping, President of NSK China, Mr Minoru Tahara, General Manager of Ernst & Young China, and Mr Liu Jun, Chief Engineer of Ernst & Young China, and the award-winning students and related teachers and students attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, Mr Xing Xiaoqiang, Secretary General of Xi’an Jiaotong University Education Foundation, delivered a speech on behalf of the Foundation, expressing his heartfelt thanks to NSK Group, which has cared for and supported the development of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University for the past thirteen years, and spoke highly of NSK’s donation, saying that as a renowned enterprise, NSK is not only a leading company in its industry, but also actively undertakes its social responsibility and devotes itself to the development of the education cause. At the same time, NSK congratulated the award-winning students and encouraged them to remember the motto of Jiao Tong University, which is: “To pursue studies with diligence, to be resolute, to be resolute, and to be loyal and forgiving”, and to work hard to realise their higher goals.
In his subsequent speech, President Yu Guoping firstly congratulated the 10 award-winning students, and then introduced the development of NSK’s business in China, as well as the outlook for the completion of the second phase of the R&D Centre. He also reviewed the long history of technical exchanges and project co-operation between NSK and the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and encouraged the students and teachers of the University to participate in more exchanges and co-operation. Finally, the award-winning students were encouraged to forge ahead and make persistent efforts to play their part in the long-term development of China’s machinery industry as well as the world’s machinery industry!
